Keep Calm And Party On: The Return Of Chill Skybar

Chill Skybar Saigon

Chill Skybar was the place to party, before there really was anywhere to party. Ten years ago, Saigon’s bar scene was bare. But Chill Skybar provided an elevated experience, from its vantage point on the 26th floor of Saigon’s AB Tower. And now, it’s back.

Chill Skybar was the only place to take out-of-town guests on a short trip to the city, or business partners dropping by for a meeting and a one or two night stop-over. Only, back then you had to peer over the open-air bars vertiginous edge and look down to see any skyline. Now, the city has blossomed with big buildings – the Bitexco Tower and Landmark81 both appeared long after Chill. That means there’s no need to crane your necks any more to take in the dazzling lights of the city.

Back To Reclaim The Crown

Naturally, in those years, a lot of other bars have opened too. But there was always something epic and elegant about the originator – Chill Skybar. There’s the dramatic sweeping staircase down to the bar and the 360-degree counter in the center, and the breeze and beats circling around in the air.

“We built up such an illustrious reputation for hospitality over the years,” the Chill Skybar team tells us. And it’s true – The World’s Finest Clubs recognized Chill Skybar as its favorite in 2017 calling it the place to be for “models, celebrities, luxury travelers and businessmen” and the venue of choice for brands like Mercedes, Porsche and Coach. And Chill Skybar has been featured everywhere from CNN Travel’s Insider Guide to TripAdvisor’s Certificate Of Excellence.

Chill Skybar Set The Standard For Mixology

The bar also set the standard for mixology in the city with members of its team taking Diageo’s World Class Best Bartender awards in 2013 and 2014, and the Wild Turkey Behind The Barrel Competition in 2017. “Because of all that,” the team tells us, “we’ve never lost our passion. The king of sky bars has just been resting and now it’s back to create a brilliant new golden age.”

And you can find corners to enjoy creative cocktails. “There’s the space beside the balcony to take in panoramic views of the city, or cozy salons inside where you can enjoy performances, or just to people-watch the parade of Saigon party people passing by.”

And Now Chill Saigon Is Coming Back With A Bang

To celebrate the dawning of its new golden age, Chill Skybar is coming back with a bang on December 1, 2022. And they’re coming back with some bangers too, from DJ KAAZE, DJ Mag’s rising star DJ and Producer from 2021. KAAZE, sometimes known as Mick Kastenholt, is a Swedish progressive house DJ, producer and songwriter who’s dropped singles on Hardwell’s Revealed Records label, and who’s single ‘Sweet Mistake’ has clocked 8 million listens on Spotify.

“Right, it’s called The Empire’s Homecoming event, and we’ll also have choreographer and performer John Huy Tran and some other special surprises that night,” the team adds finally, “it’s going to be fun.”
