German Beer, Vietnamese Heart As Oktoberfest Comes To The Long @ Times Square

October means lederhosen, oompah bands, and enough German beer to make you forget you're not in Munich – and this year, Ho Chi Minh City is getting the full Bavarian treatment at The Long @ Time Square.

October means one thing in Bavaria – lederhosen, oompah bands, and enough beer to fill the Danube. For centuries, Munich has been the epicenter of the world’s greatest beer celebration, drawing millions to massive beer halls where strangers become friends over steins of perfectly crafted lager. This year, you don’t need to fly to Munich or wrestle with crowds of tourists in dirndls to get your Oktoberfest fix. Ho Chi Minh City is getting its own slice of Bavarian culture, and it’s happening right in the heart of District 1 at The Long @ Times Square.

The tradition started as a simple harvest festival in 1810, but evolved into something much bigger – a celebration of German craftsmanship, community, and the simple joy of raising a glass with good people.

The Long @ Times Square is bringing its own Oktoberfest to Ho Chi Minh City this October, and they’re not messing around. Two nights only – October 2nd and 3rd – at the restaurant that stretches 28 meters between Nguyen Hue Boulevard and Dong Khoi Street (it’s called The Long with good reason).

A Straightforward Set-Up

The setup is straightforward: unlimited German beer for 988,000 VND per person, traditional German food, and a live band. They’re pouring Krombacher alongside Belgian imports like Belgo and Edelweiss, plus local craft options. The food menu hits the expected notes – sausages, pork knuckles, pretzels. Standard Oktoberfest fare, but done properly.

What makes this different from other hotel Oktoberfest attempts is the venue itself. The Long’s open bar concept means you can watch the bartenders work while you drink. It’s the perfect blend of inebriation and lack of participation.

The 28-meter space gives the event room to breathe, unlike cramped ballroom setups elsewhere in the city. They’ve got both indoor and outdoor seating, so weather won’t kill the vibe.

Bavarians Would Be Beaming With Pride

The entertainment includes a beer stein holding challenge – always good for laughs after a few Krombachers – and a lucky draw. Bavarians would be beaming with pride.

Munich’s original Oktoberfest started as a harvest celebration in Bavaria. Now it’s the world’s biggest beer festival, drawing millions to drink, eat, and wear lederhosen. Ho Chi Minh City’s take won’t match that scale, but The Long’s location in District 1 means it’ll capture the tourist crowd and expat community looking for a taste of home.

The timing works too – October weather in Saigon is manageable, and the restaurant’s position between two major streets makes it accessible whether you’re staying downtown or coming from the expat areas.

The Long @ Times Square Is Delivering Exactly What Oktoberfest Is Supposed To Be About

For two nights, The Long becomes a piece of Bavaria in Vietnam. The combination of quality German beers, proper traditional food, and that sprawling 28-meter space should deliver exactly what Oktoberfest is supposed to be about – good beer, good food, and good times with friends. At 988,000 VND for unlimited drinks and entertainment, it’s a solid way to celebrate German brewing culture without flying to Munich.

Oktoberfest at The Long @ Times Square runs from October 2-3, 2025, from 6 PM and is priced at 988,000 VND++ per person with more information and reservations at +84 (0) 28 3823 6688.
