As Saigon blossoms outwards, there’s more to explore. From undiscovered enclaves to newly-developed islands, it’s worth escaping downtown District 1 or Thao Dien. Take Splash, for example, the tropical pool party over on Swanbay Island.

Face it. We’d all like to be in Ibiza right now. Or even Bali. But we’re not. So, a high-speed shuttle boat across to Swanbay on December 10, where there awaits inflatable flamingos, a roster of girl-power local DJs – including Yokosun, Levyn and Xiu Xiu – and a gang of usually dapper (but probably shirtless) bartenders, in the first installment of Splash Tropical Pool Party.

The Paths To Contentment

But at Splash Tropical Pool Party, there are many paths to contentment. Take the foodie route, and sip coconuts under the tranquil Saturday sun and snack on pizza from Oliver’s or bites from Bento Bistro. Wet And Dry

Splash Tropical Pool Party spans two stages. From The Wet Stage, fringed with VIP cabanas, drifts Yokosun, Levyn and Xiu Xiu’s topical melodies that wouldn’t be out of place at Café del Mar. And, over at The Dry Stage, there’s live bands, icy beverages and flavorsome food, and games and glamping.

Party amidst the lush greenery of Swanbay Island.

Sun-Basking And Rosé Toasting

And it’s all reached by high-speed boat from District 1’s Bach Dang Ferry Terminal in a 30-minutes ride full of sun-basking, and rosé toasting. And once there, the organizers promise a special surprise – legendary rocker Pham Anh Khoa will perform a special set as the sun sets.

Making A Splash

“And all this will set the stage for a full season of trendy, tropical pool parties over on Swanbay Island,” the organizers explain. “We’re bringing together international-standard event production, and global and local headline artists, all for the aspirational day dreamer and lifestyle seeker in you…”
