Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 51-100 list is out, dropping two weeks ahead of the awards ceremony in Hong Kong on 25 March. Fifty restaurants, 27 cities, 12 first-timers — and Seoul so far out in front it’s not really a competition this year.
With the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 awards ceremony locked in for 25 March in Hong Kong, the organizers have dropped the extended Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 51-100 list — and it’s a broader, more geographically ambitious roster than last year.
This year’s extended list spans 27 cities, up four from 2025, with ten cities returning or appearing for the first time. Four of those are brand new to the rankings: Busan, Chengdu, Kanazawa, and Nishikawa. Twelve restaurants make their debut on the list altogether.
Seoul Sets The Pace In Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 51-100 List
Seoul leads all cities with seven restaurants on the extended list — Solbam (No.55), Born and Bred (No.56), Alla Prima (No.57), Soigné (No.74), Jungsik (No.87), and Kwonsooksoo (No.98), plus newcomer San (No.54), this year’s One To Watch Award winner. No other city comes close.
Bangkok and Singapore each place five and four restaurants respectively, while Hong Kong claims four: Ta Vie (No.68), Vea (No.70), Andō (No.88), and Amber (No.90).
Japan Reaches Out
Tokyo contributes three restaurants — Den (No.51), new entry Sushi Shunji (No.63), and the ever-present Sushi Saito (No.72) — but the bigger Japan story is the spread beyond the capital. Kanazawa lands two new entries: Kataori (No.82), flagged as a kaiseki restaurant of the future, and Respiración (No.92), a collaboration between three chef friends drawing on the El Bulli playbook. Nishikawa debuts with Dewaya (No.93), a historic ryokan dating to 1929 whose chef Haruki Sato centres his cooking on mountain vegetables. Kyoto’s Cenci (No.76) and Wakayama’s Villa Aida (No.81) round out a Japan presence that stretches across eight cities and prefectures.
The Highest Climber And The Highest New Entry In Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 51-100 List
Beijing’s all-private-rooms restaurant Chef 1996 enters Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 51-100 list at No.52, the highest-ranked new entry on the 51-100. Kuala Lumpur’s Dewakan (No.62) records the biggest jump, climbing 22 places under chef Darren Teoh’s ongoing focus on indigenous Malaysian ingredients. Singapore’s Thevar (No.58) also moves significantly, up 12 places from No.70 last year.
Beyond Beijing’s Chef 1996, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 51-100 list marks Chengdu’s first-ever appearance through Co- (No.69) — a five-table operation serving multi-course tasting menus built from the chef’s travels — and Shenzhen’s Fumée (No.65), where chef Reina Chen works a Chinese-French hybrid she calls “glocal” cuisine.
Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 51-100 List Presents Southeast Asia’s Highlights
Vietnam gets a nod with Peter Cuong-Franklin’s Anan Saigon back in the list after a year out (No.86). Bangkok re-enters through Haoma (No.96) and also places Baan Tepa (No.53), Samrub Samrub Thai (No.67), Côte by Mauro Colagreco (No.91), and Gaa (No.95). Penang’s Gēn lands at No.89. Manila holds two spots — Toyo Eatery (No.71) and newcomer Celera (No.100).
India places three restaurants: Papa’s in Mumbai (No.66), a 12-seater counter where chef Hussain Shahzad runs a contemporary Indian tasting menu; The Table, also Mumbai (No.73); and Inja in New Delhi (No.75).
South Korea’s Busan makes its debut with Fiotto (No.99) — a husband-and-wife Italian restaurant running on organic produce from their own farm.
