Asia's cocktail royalty will crown their new king in Macau this July, while the rest of us frantically update our drinking bucket lists and practice pronouncing 'baijiu' correctly.

Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace are to host the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025. It’s their first time as host city, bringing together Asia’s cocktail elite to the island which sits on China’s southern coast, 40 miles west of Hong Kong.

The boozy brains behind Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025, sponsored by Perrier, are shaking things up. All the whispers were of Hong Kong again hosting Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025, after Rosewood Hong Kong played amicable hosts last year, when Bar Leone swept to no.1 spot out of nowhere.

Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 Heads To Macau

Instead, Asia’s 50 Best Bar’s 2025, their tenth edition of Asia’s 50 Best Bars, lands in Macau on July 15, 2025. It’s a first for the city, with Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace rolling out the red carpet. Wynn was also instrumental in bringing the World’s 50 Best Restaurants to Las Vegas last year, for all those trend watchers out there.

Macau’s Hosting Of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 Is A Sign Of Evolving Tastes In Macau

Macau isn’t just Vegas-meets-Portugal anymore – it’s evolved into Asia’s playground for luxury seekers with serious taste. Glittering casinos sit alongside centuries-old temples, while world-class dining and emerging craft cocktail joints are redefining what was once just a gambling mecca.

Chefs like Tam Kwok-Fung, from Chef Tam’s Seasons at Wynn Palace are part of a foodie revolution on the island. He just picked up no.9 place at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, at their big reveal in Seoul March 26th.

Who Decides The List Of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025?

If you’re curious about who’s mixing Asia’s best drinks, this is the list that matters. The rankings come straight from the Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy – a secretive, gender-balanced crew of over 300 industry insiders. Think bartenders, bar owners, writers, and serious cocktail nerds. They each get seven votes. And Deloitte counts them which, they promise, guarantees no funny business.

Local Heritage Meets Boundary Breakers At Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025

“We are excited to host this year’s live awards ceremony in Macau. From sips inspired by the city’s local culture and heritage to surprising avant-garde creations, the best of Macau’s bar scene combines both flavor and storytelling led by innovative bartending talents. Our partnership with Wynn Palace and Wynn Macau, establishments that are renowned for their world-class food and drink experiences, provide an excellent backdrop for celebrating the remarkable achievements of this year’s winners as they continue to elevate the region’s bar scene,” says Emma Sleight, Head of Content for Asia’s 50 Best Bars.

“You’ll find drinks that tell stories – some rooted in local heritage, others pushing boundaries with wild creativity. Wynn’s reputation for world-class hospitality makes it the perfect backdrop for this year’s celebration.”

Let The Celebrations Begin As Macau Hosts Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025

As has become traditional, the party kicks off with the Bartenders’ Feast, where Macau flexes its culinary and cocktail muscles. Media types get special access at the Meet the Bartenders roundtable. Then comes the main event – camera flashes on the red carpet, free-flowing drinks, and the nail-biting countdown to see who takes the crown from Hong Kong’s Bar Leone, last year’s surprise champion. If anyone.

Beyond Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025’s Top 50

The ceremony climaxes by naming The Best Bar in Asia, sponsored by Perrier, but that’s not all they’re handing out. Look out for the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award – last year won by the sleek Four Seasons Tokyo bar, VIRTÙ, the first special award announced in advance of the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 for the spot that treats you like royalty, and the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender – the industry’s choice for who’s pushing the craft forward – last year won by Dohyung ‘Demie’ Kim of Zest, in Seoul.

And don’t sleep on the 51-100 list dropping before the main event. It’s 50 Best’s way of saying “these places are killer too” and giving thirsty explorers even more options across Asia’s electric bar scene.
