The buzz builds. And the region’s culinary outliers have been celebrated first. Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 has stepped back into the spotlight, and it’s returning to Seoul.  And this is the reveal of its extended Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 51-100 list. It’s a premonition of the spectacular event ahead on 26th March. It’s also the culmination of a series of pre-awards announcements.

Bengaluru’s Farmlore just claimed the coveted ‘One to Watch’ honor ahead of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 ceremony. And in the other pre-event accolades. Manila’s boundary-pushing Toyo Eatery secured the prestigious Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award – a testament to its revolutionary Filipino dining approach that seamlessly fuses human connection with environmental consciousness.

And Bangkok’s culinary scene celebrated Chudaree ‘Tam’ Debhakam, the visionary chef-owner behind Baan Tepa, now wearing the crown of Asia’s Best Female Chef 2025. Three destinations.

What’s With Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025’s 51-100 List?

The 51-100 list represents democracy in action. This expansion of the list of the 50 Best Restaurants In Asia has transformed the awards, illuminating a broader spectrum of culinary innovation across Asia.

Last year’s extended list told a compelling story. Singapore and Tokyo tied with eight entries each. Bangkok followed closely with seven. But added to that, the expanded format opened doors for emerging talents and under-appreciated culinary hotspots to claim their rightful place in the conversation.

“This underscores our ongoing commitment to championing the remarkable gastronomic talent thriving in the region,” explained William Drew, Director of Content. “With representation from numerous Asian cities, this extended list offers gourmets worldwide a selection of establishments to savor during their travels.” Understatement of the year.

The Origins Of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025’s 51-100 List

The extended 51-100 list debuted in March 2021. It was a bold response to an unprecedented moment. Lurking in the shadows of a global pandemic that had devastated the hospitality industry, the expanded ranking served as both lifeline and love letter to Asia’s struggling restaurant scene.

“We have decided to publish the list of restaurants ranked from 51st to 100th in order to recognize a greater number of venues than ever before,” explained William Drew, Director of Content, at its launch.

The initiative transcended mere rankings. It became a statement of resilience and recovery, spotlighting twice as many establishments across the region and offering diners fresh inspiration as borders reopened.

What began as crisis response has evolved into an essential component of the awards – a vibrant platform that captures the full spectrum of Asian culinary innovation, from established institutions to tomorrow’s trendsetters. And, inevitably, it whets the appetite for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025’s announcement of its full list later in March.

Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 51-100 List

The big news for Vietnam, during the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 announcement of 51-100 is Gia, Hanoi crept into the list for the first time at No.97. There were no other establishments listed, which suggest Anan Saigon may have retained a spot in the top 50.

Overall, The 51-100 list is served major geographical drama this year with Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Seoul all flexing equally with six spots each. Seoul’s showing is particularly notworthy with Soigné making the highest new entry splash at #57, while Born & Bred barely missed the top 50 at #51.

This year’s list spans an impressive 23 cities with 13 fresh faces crashing the party. India’s not just participating, it’s dominating with newcomers like Farmlore in Bengaluru (#68) snagging the American Express One To Watch Award, while Naar (#66) puts Kasauli on the gastronomic map for the first time ever. New Delhi’s Inja (#87) rounds out India’s new culinary powerhouses.

Hong Kong’s scene evolves with newcomers Testina (#60) bringing Italian swagger and Feuille (#93) adding French finesse, while mainland China counters with Hangzhou’s Ru Yuan (#59) and Shanghai’s La Bourriche 133 (#96). Tokyo maintains its relevance with four entries, including new sushi sensation Harutaka (#76).

In another plot twist, culinary geography is being rewritten across Asia as previously overlooked destinations are demanding attention.
